Roel "Unk" Ochoa, 55, of Amarillo died on Wednesday, February 11, 2015. Memorial services will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 14, 2015 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel with Pastor Ron La Force of Kingswood
Roel was born on December 24, 1959 in Weslaco to Navor and Lydia Ochoa. Roel graduated from Plainview and attended South Plains College where he obtained a degree in automotive technology. He proudly served his country in the Army. He married Loretta Alonzo in January 1979 in Plainview. Roel worked at U-Haul as a Pre Inspector manager. Unk was thePresident and co-founder, along with his sons, of Lethal Motorsports. Together they have won numerous races, awards and championships. Unk loved racing and spending time with his family and was a great cook and was known as "Emeril".
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lydia.
He is survived by his wife, three sons, Jason Ochoa and wife Chante, Juan Delgado and wife Kara, both of Amarillo and John Alonzo III of Lubbock; a grand daughter Caitlyn Bryant of Amarillo; his father, Navor Ochoa of San Carlos; six brothers; one sister; his in laws, John Alonzo and wife Hortencia of Amarillo and his very good friend, James Walthall and wife Linda of Amarillo.
