June was born on June 20, 1920 to Loyd and Pearl Mae Chapin in Kansas. She graduated from Friona high School in 1938 and married the late James D. Jones in 1940. Mrs. Jones was a drug manager at Furr’s Grocery Store until her retirement in 1983. She was a member of Comanche Trail Church of Christ. She loved her church family and enjoyed her sunshiner’s trips. Mrs. Jones was an avid painter to canvas. June was well known and admired for her dedication to Christ and her strong Christian values. This unwavering faith will be her legacy here on earth, and it is most certainly the crown of glory she wears now in her eternal home in Heaven.
preceded in death by her husband and parents, and a beloved son, Benny Jones.
Survivors include her son, Joel Jones and wife Dottie of Dallas; 2 daughters, Doris Jones VanHoorn and husband Rich of Canyon and Shirley Sides and husband Harold of Wilderado; a sister, Jean Ooley of Cannon City, CO; a brother, Doyle Chapin of Panhandle; a daughter-in-law, Patti Jones of Santa Fe; 5 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
