Robert “Bob” Wilbur of Canyon, Texas passed away on March 25, 2023. He was born on June 17, 1950, and was adopted by Earl and Dorothy Wilbur.
He attended Missouri Military Academy from 1963 to 1964 and graduated from Dalhart High School in 1968. Bob studied photography at West Texas State University, later becoming a professional rodeo photographer (in the arena, no less) as he traveled the country numerous times. He was a paramedic in Canadian and Arlington, and was a basic EMT instructor. Bob loved handguns and won many awards in marksmanship. He led a fascinating and active life as an aviator and donut shop owner. He loved the responsibility and being of service driving kids safely to school and back. He felt like he was making a difference. What Bob loved most were his children, and telling jokes to make people laugh.
Bob is survived by his two daughters Amy (Ronald) Goodlin and Kristen (Martin) Aguilar, his son Jason Wilbur, his grandchildren, Kaleb Padilla, Tyler Padilla and Kaitlyn Padilla, cousin Randall Carver, sister Deedee (Terry) Cosgrove, nieces Tracy Douthitt, D’lisa Risley, along with seven great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Dorothy Wilbur and daughter Sierra Michelle Wilbur.
