Robert Lee Wells, 62, of Amarillo died on Friday, January 2, 2015. Memorial services will be at 10:00 am, Monday, January 5, 2015 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel with Chaplain Rory Murphy of the VA Hospital officiating.
Robert Wells was born on March 8, 1952 in Oakland, CA to JC and Ellsie Wells. Robert proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam Era while stationed in Germany. Robert married his wife Shelly Warnke on July 3, 1987 in Amarillo. He worked for the U.S. Postal service until retiring after 18 years. Robert was a great storyteller and loved to go camping and fishing at Lake Meredith and Greenbelt Lake. He loved his Boston Terriers and squirrels. Robert became especially close to his granddaughter Lilly, but he loved his family and grandchildren dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Shelly; two sons, Chris Wells and fiance Amber of Ft. Collins, CO. and Bryan Wells and wife Tori of Brighton, CO; a daughter, Krista Jones and husband Mark Jr of Amarillo and ten grandchildren.
