Robert D. Simpson, 73 of Amarillo died on Saturday, October 24, 2015. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S Coulter Road.
Robert was born on August 27, 1942 in Sulphur Bluff, Texas to Clarence and Minnie Simpson. He joined the United Sates Army where he served his country proudly during the Vietnam Era. Robert worked as a Lumber Salesman for Wickers Lumber, Payless Cashway and 84 Lumber. He married Linda Gilpin on June 9, 1990 in Amarillo. He enjoyed golfing , fishing, hunting and playing pool.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Frankie Joe Simpson; and two sisters, Hazel Fay Sheldon and Eddie Mabe.
Robert is survived by his wife, Linda; daughters, Louise Wade and her, husband, Rex, Annette Shilinsky, all of Amarillo, and Donna Morrison and her husband, Denny, of Burnett, Texas; sister, Geneva Brock and her husband, Frankie, of Tyler, Texas; grandchildren, Shell, Erin, Matthew, April; and eight great grandchildren, all of Amarillo.
