Robert Nicholas Shelton, Jr., son of Robert Nicholas Shelton and Bethel Mae Shelton, born in Deming, NM on May 5, 1943, passed on to his new life on December 26, 2019 in Amarillo. He leaves behind his beloved daughters, Janet Shelton, with grandsons Nicholas and Asher, and Juanita Pelletier, with grandsons Kristofer and Brent. He also is survived by a close cousin, Janice English, and many friends who loved him dearly, including his life partner, Lillian Johnston of Las Cruces.
Bob loved sports cars, trucks, and things that go boom. He was an outgoing man who never met a stranger. He loved to minister and was always open to whatever he felt God had in store for him. Bob lived in Los Alamos, NM from 8th grade, until eventually retiring from Los Alamos National Laboratory. His younger years were filled with hobbies, including being a pilot, auto crossing, and his horse, Lindy. He owned several businesses during his life, including a mechanics shop and a Christian bookstore. He then moved several times to follow the Lord’s direction to serve in various ministries. He was an ordained minister and dedicated his life to God’s will. He was most lately of Amarillo, Tx.
A memorial service will be held at Elevate Church located at 2700 S Hill St. Amarillo, TX 79103 at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 4th, 2020.
