Robert "Bob" Hendricks

November 26, 1934 — August 9, 2012

Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 13, 2012 at Cross Pointe Church 4400 S. Washington St. with Sheldon DeVries and Rev. Beverly Schmidt Couzzourt  officiating.

His visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday, August 12, 2012 at LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Coulter Road Chapel.
Robert Hendricks was born on November 26, 1934 in Craig, Colorado to Edward and Virginia Hendricks.  He attended Montrose High School in Colorado.  Mr. Hendricks joined the Navy where he served in the Korean War.  In 1956 he married Patricia Pochyly in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Moving to Amarillo in 1963 they spent many happy years together before her passing in 2010.  Robert was involved in many organizations Big Brothers and Amarillo Press Club to name a few.  He hosted a TV show in the 60’s “Shock Theater” on channel 7.  Mr. Hendricks worked many Haunted Houses with the YMCA.  Robert worked as an EMT.  He was an announcer for KGNC radio and t.v.   Mr. Hendricks loved kids and worked as a Cub Scout pack leader.  He helped found the Cornerstone of the Theater in the Round in Montrose, Colorado.  He loved his family and adored being a grandfather.

He is preceded in death by his wife Patricia, parents, his grandparents, brother and sister.

Survivors include  his daughter Vicki Bradshaw and husband Jim of Amarillo; Sons Eric and wife Andrea, Rob and wife Jeannie of Amarillo and Tim and wife Sherrie of Brunswick, Georgia;  Sister Ada Bertorello and husband Harold of Montrose, Colorado; Brother John and wife Janice of Grand Junction, Colorado; 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews that will miss him dearly.
