Gwen Garwood Hall was born on July 25, 1924 and passed away on July 10, 2011. Her husband, Robert Wayne "Bob" Hall was born on March 27, 1924 and passed away on September 20, 2008.
A " Double" Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held for Mr. and Mrs. Hall at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Coulter Road Chapel, located at 8310 Coulter Rd. with Rev. Larry Dunlap officiating.
Gwen was born on July 24, 1924 in Amarillo to Clyde and Elizabeth Garwood. She graduated high school in Amarillo before attending college at Amarillo Junior College where she obtained an Associate’s Degree. Gwen worked as a clerk for Shamrock Oil and Gas Company/Valero for over 30 years, retiring in the mid-eighties. Gwen was the last charter member of what is now Valley View Church of the Nazarene.
Robert Wayne “Bob” Hall was born March 27, 1924 in Kansas City, MO. His biological parents were Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Williams. Both were killed in a train wreck when Bob was five months old. Dr. and Mrs. C.W. Hall of Greenwood, Arkansas adopted Bob in November of 1924 and were the only parents he ever knew. Bob’s chosen profession was in the sales field. One of the companies he represented was Boyle-Midway. Bob bought Friendly News, a sole proprietorship and operated this business for over 20 years before his retirement. Bob’s Hobbies were hunting, golfing and watching musical performances. He especially loved Art Tatum at the piano.
Bob married Gwen Garwood in 1956 and celebrated 52 years of marriage until his death in September of 2008. Bob and Gwen had no children.
Survivors include many loving nieces and nephews and a host of friends
