Robert Harold Butler

Robert Harold Butler, 75, of Amarillo died on Friday, June 13, 2014. Graveside Services will be at 10:00 am, Monday, June 16, 2014 at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Dr. G. A. Roach officiating. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter.
Harold was born on October 2, 1938 to James and Zella Butler in Canyon. Harold attended Tulia High School where he was an all around athlete and played quarterback for the Tulia Hornets. Harold proudly served his country in the Army and was a member of the Honor Guard at Arlington National Cemetery. He married his wife Linda on June 3, 1966 in Amarillo. Harold was a member of the Local 404 plumbers and steam fitters union. The union kept him busy with Missouri Valley construction building the power plants in the Texas panhandle. Harold liked to travel and especially liked traveling to the Hill country in the spring.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Harold is survived by his wife Linda, a daughter Brenda and a son Bryan, all of Amarillo and a sister Carol Blackberg and husband Butch of Rio Rancho, NM.
