Robert Dale Bucklew

Robert Dale "Buck" Bucklew, 86, Amarillo died Tuesday, September 1, 2015. Graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Elmwood Cemetery, Woodward, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S Coulter Road.
Buck was born on September 28, 1928 in White City, Kansas to Bert and Lulu Bucklew. He joined the United States Navy at the age of 17 where he served his country proudly. He married Royetta Handley in Woodward, Oklahoma on December 25, 1959. Buck worked in the natural gas industry laying natural gas pipelines and on gas compressors. He also helped lay the pipelines in Pakistan in 1977. Buck retired in 1991 and moved to Amarillo with his wife in 1992.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Royetta; step son, Russell Handley, both of Amarillo; numerous nieces and nephews and many good friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to: Ussery-Roan Texas State Veterans, at 1020 Tascosa Rd, Amarillo, TX 79124.
