Richard Trout, 66, of Amarillo, TX, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 21, 2016. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 on Saturday, December 31,2016 at Central Church of Christ in Amarillo.
Richard was a college biology professor and an accomplished author. His young adult adventure books, The McGregor Family series, included 6 books about the adventures of a biologist and his family around the world. Richard was passionate about his faith, science, and conservation, and these values were reflected in his writings.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Virgil Trout, and a brother, John Trout.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mavis Trout of Amarillo; mother, Gwen Trout of Ardmore, OK; two daughters, Kristen Cooper and husband Casey of Amarillo; Keely Clark and husband David of McKinney; and 6 grandchildren: Noah, Emma Kate, Micah, and Colby Cooper of Amarillo; Westen and Beau Clark of McKinney.
