Richard Earl Sudduth, 86, of Amarillo passed away on Monday, July 12, 2021. Memorial services will take place on Friday, July 16, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Crossroads Country Church with Dr. Charles Townsend and Steve Haney officiating. Richard was born on November 8, 1934 in Crosbyton, Texas to Claude and Loma Sudduth. Richard attended and graduated from Crosbyton High School. He later went to work and retired as a farmer but was also an active musician and a lifetime cowboy in the community. Richard was selected for 3 Western Swing Halls of Fame; he was Crosbyton Man of the Year; featured on Texas Country Reporter and he even wrote music for the God’s Country Amphitheater. He had a passion for music and a love for his sports especially the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Charles Sudduth and James Sudduth.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Sudduth; his brother, David Sudduth; his daughters, Diane Higginbotham and husband Don, Richie Lynn Gowens and husband Kelton and Falesa Mills; his son, Kevin Handley; three grandchildren, Angie Haney and husband Steve, Erica Gowens and Spencer Mills; three great-grandchildren, Myka Allamon, Josh Haney and Hannah Haney.
