Raymond Earl Harvey, 78, of Amarillo passed from this life on Sunday, October 21, 2018. Services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, November 3, 2018 in Anna Street Church of Christ, 2310 Anna Street. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are under the personal care of LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter Road.
Raymond was born on September 25, 1940 in Shamrock, Texas to Robert and Susie Harvey. He married Zenith Phipps on August 6, 1959 in Wellington, Texas. They moved to Amarillo where he worked different positions at White's Home and Auto Stores. He worked briefly in Wichita Falls before returning to Amarillo where he owned and operated House of Sleep, Wolflin Unique Furniture and Farris Furniture Store. Raymond also worked in sales at Amarillo Hardware before retiring from Nunn Electric. He later married Verna Turner in June of 1993. He enjoyed hunting, motorcycles and taking care of people.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Verna Harvey, two brothers, Burnice Ray Harvey and Robert Harvey and a sister, Etta Lou Hudson.
Raymond is survived by his son, Gary Harvey and wife, Kerri Lynn; grandsons, Trevor Ray Harvey and Faron Ray Harvey; a sister, Linda Lamb and husband Mark; step daughter, Glenna Atchley and husband Mike; step sons, James Turner and wife, Tammie and Marty Turner and wife Amanda; step grandchildren, Stephanie Nicole Smith, Kyle Turner, Amy Turner, Jason Mays and wife Sara, Justin Mays and wife Lani; Amber Pacheco and husband, Daniel, Michelle Jolly and husband, Bryan and Jody Atchley and wife, Tammy; 12 step great grandchildren.
