Rachel Sofia Morales

Rachel Morales went home to be with the Lord July 13, 2021.

Rachel was born in Tucumcari, New Mexico on October 23, 1956.  Rachel was one of 12 children born to Luichi Cordova.

Rachel was married to Elias Morales and they lived a loving life together for 25 years.

Rachel was a mother of 5 children.  Rachel worked as an RN for many years and showed love and kindness to all of her dialysis patients. Rachel read her Bible cover to cover many times, and she knew the scripture and kept God’s words close to her heart!

Rachel is preceded in death by her husband Elias Morales, mother Luichi Cordova, sister Veronica Vigil, and other beloved family members.

Rachel is survived by her 5 children, Luichi Shelley, Rochelle Rojas, Joshua Cordova, Monique Vela, and Sarah Garcia and husband Chris Garcia, all of Amarillo, TX.  Also, survived by 12 grandchildren, Rachel Upchurch and her husband Ben Upchurch, Skylar Shelley, Felicity Shelley, Eliana Sonnier, Kiara Sonnier, Andrew Rojas, Jayla Rojas, Ethan Sayakomarn, Seagan Cordova, Tori Venzor, Eliza Garcia, Azariah Garcia, and 5 great-grandchildren; 5 sisters, Pam Cordova and husband Jesse Flores, Cecile Arenas and husband Herman Arenas, Yolonda Cordova, Janie Cordova, and June Cordova, and 3 brothers, Mario Cordova, Joe Cordova, Willie Cordova, and by many loved nieces and nephews.

She was a kind and giving person, and will be greatly missed by all those who loved her. For those who would like to attend or send flowers, Rachel’s service will be held at 2 p.m on July 16, 2021 at Lagrone-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Home on Martin Road.
