Quy Ngoc Nguyen, 77, passed away March 27, 2024, in Amarillo, Texas. He was born on March 12, 1947, in Hanoi, Vietnam, to Ninh Ngoc Nguyen and Lich Thi Nguyen. He graduated from Vietnam and went into the army in South Vietnam after marrying Hoa Thi Ta on December 31, 1972, in Saigon, Vietnam. He served for ten years, and then he and his family moved to the U.S. in 1993. He worked for Tyson ten years before he retired.
Mr. Nguyen is survived by his wife, Hoa Thi Ta, son, Quang (Lien Ngo) Nguyen and their two children, Emily and Andrew Nguyen, son Quyen (Phung Tran) and their three children: Kristen (Teodoro) Rivero and the first great grandchild due in July, Sidney, and Mahkayla, and daughter in law Linda Pham with three children, Ethan, Kaiden, and Jayden Nguyen. He has two sisters, Son Nguyen and Thuy (Hong) Nguyen, and one brother, Chinh Nguyen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ninh Ngoc and Lich Thi Nguyen, one son, Quoc Nguyen, two brothers, Nung Nguyen and Chung Nguyen, and one sister, Gia Nguyen.
Quy attended Our Lady of Vietnam Catholic Church and was very respected. He enjoyed soccer and running/jogging. Every Wednesday morning, he would meet up with his friends and enjoy talking about his time in the army. He was a very nice and funny man who loved to tell a good joke.
