Phyllis Ruth Grogan, 89, of Amarillo died on Monday, January 18, 2016. Memorial services will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, January 21, 2015 at Polk Street United Methodist Chapel with Pastor Kevin Deckard officiating. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter.
Phyllis was born on January 12, 1927 to Horry and Jo Grounds. She married her husband, Fred Grogan on April 9, 1948. She worked in retail sales for several different stores. Phyllis was a member of the bridge club and enjoyed going bowling with her husband Fred. She was an avid crossword puzzle worker and always had a puzzle close by. She also loved her five chihuahua dogs that she raised from puppies, but most of all, Phyllis loved her family dearly and was always ready with a hug.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Fred (Wally) and a son, Fred (Trey) Grogan III.
She is survived by her son, Tim Grogan and wife Janie of Amarillo; grandsons, Fred Grogan IV of Blair, NE; Parker Grogan and J.J. Grogan , both of Amarillo and Andy Harris and wife Jolene of Omaha; granddaughter, Sheena Scott and husband Ray of Blair, NE; great grandsons, Karter Scott and Kayden Scott, both of Blair, NE, Sayer Harris-Finnell and Theron Harris, both of Omaha, NE.; and beloved family members, Leia Bennett and the Blake Clements Family.
