One of God's bright lights, known to others as Peggy Jean (Fowler) Adams, was called home on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, in Amarillo, TX, after spending 94 fantastic but eventful years here on earth. Born on June 17, 1926, in Vernon, TX, to the late George Homer and Lula Elizabeth "Bessie" (Hodge) Fowler, Peggy spent her last days surrounded by those she loved and who loved her.
Peggy was the mother of five exceptional children and their spouses; William Gene Adams and his wife Georgia of Phoenix, AZ, Charles Homer Adams of Amarillo, TX; James Aaron Adams and his wife Brenda of San Antonio, TX, Cynthia Ann (Adams) Smith of Amarillo, TX, and Elizabeth Renee’ McDonald of Silom Springs, AR. Peggy was a homemaker most of her life, raising her children and many of her grandchildren and baking cakes for every event known to man. Peggy loved to read, work crossword puzzles, play cards, eat Mexican food (chili rellenos), drink margaritas, watch “her” Dallas Cowboys, and loved, loved, loved watching old westerns to pass the time and keep her "out of trouble." Peggy lived an amazingly long life, and this tenacious spirit of light and love will be missed by everyone who had the honor to know her.
At the family’s request, no service will be held. You may make donations to the local A.S.P.C.A or any local animal rescue, or your local Shriner’s Club in honor of Peggy, in place of flowers.
