Pedro Duarte Jr.

Pedro Duarte Jr. passed away on November 5, 2022. He was 24 years old. Pedro was born on October 22, 1998, in Corona, CA, to Pedro Duarte and Teresita Lujan. His parents moved to Amarillo, TX when he was a toddler. He attended Whittier Elementary School, where he made lifelong friends. He was a graduate of Palo Duro High School. He played on the varsity football team. Pedro loved being part of the team and always wanted to make his coaches proud. Music and art were his passions. Pedro was a talented musician. He played the bass in the high school orchestra and participated in many competitions. Pedro enjoyed watching the Ravens, the 49ers, and the Golden State Warriors. He will be remembered for his forever smile, not knowing a stranger, and always seeing the good in everyone.

He is survived by his parents Pedro Duarte and Teresita Lujan, sister Cynthia (Hugo) Navarrete, brother Edward Duarte, two nieces Xitlaly and Yazlyn Navarrete, nephew Martín Navarrete, 10 aunts and uncles, and many more cousins.

Pedro is preceded by grandparents Gonzalo Lujan, Concepción Muniz, Enrique Duarte, and María Torres, Uncle Martín Duarte, and aunt Soledad Duarte.
