Pauline Alice Allen Phillips

Pauline Alice Allen Phillips, 81, of Pampa, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2014 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm, Friday, February 14, 2014 in the Miami Cemetery in Miami, Texas.
Pauline was born in Miami, Texas to Windom DeWitt and Iva Ruth Allen on November 11, 1932. She was valedictorian of her high school class and went on to graduate from West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas. On January 23, 1953, she married Bobby G. Phillips of Amarillo. Pauline taught school for 37 years in Amarillo, Bovina, Tulia, Cibolo, and ultimately retired from Lefors ISD in 1993. She was involved in Alpha Delta Pi, DAR, Eastern Star, Texas Retired Teachers Association, and was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church. Pauline was an avid reader and traveler, visiting many countries during her retirement.
Pauline was preceded in death by her husband Bob in 1989.
She is survived by her two children, Charlotte O'Brien of Amarillo and Bob Phillips and wife Sarah of Houston. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Lynn George and her sister-in-law Cathy Sifuentez, both of Amarillo. Pauline had three grandsons who brought her much joy, Tyson O'Brien of Baton Rouge, LA and Jeffrey and Jackson Phillips of Houston. She also had three nieces who were a big part of her life, Ginny Albertson of Amarillo, Gail George of Hereford and Gwen Driver and family of Amarillo.
The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to Legacy Rehabilitation & Living and Interim Healthcare (Hospice) for their compassion and care for Pauline in her time of need.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to either the American Cancer Society or Alzheimer's research at the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
