Patricia Ruth McFall was born July 2, 1956, in Amarillo, TX, to Jessie and Annabelle McFall. She was the youngest of six children. She went to kindergarten through 11th grade in Amarillo then moved to Portland, Oregon, where she graduated from Portland Community College then to Portland Paramedical Center where she became a Medical Assistant.
Pat worked for St. Anthony’s Hospice; then the name changed to BSA Hospice for 15 years, then Hospice of the Southwest for five years. Twenty years working for Hospice was her love--taking care of people at the end of their lives. Seeing them pain-free and comfortable with their families around them was important to her. She really loved and cared for her patients, and they loved her too.
Pat was a caring and loving mother of two children: son, Robert E. Coffee Jr. and daughter, Kisha C. McFall. She had three grandchildren; two grandsons, Christopher M. Coffee and Eric B. Coffee; and one granddaughter, Ja’Zhana A-C Henderson McFall.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Annabelle McFall, stepfather, Clarence A. Berry, sisters, Peggy L. Brown and brother, Jesse L. Brown Jr.
Pat’s wishes are viewing of her body for three days, then a private funeral for her immediate family.
In Pat’s words: Everyone thinks of a funeral as saying goodbye to your loved ones. To me, it’s so hard on your family and loved ones, so I opt not to have one (a funeral).
My mother always told me to give her flowers while she was alive because when she’s gone, she won’t know or see them. My children have always done that, so I say love your family and friends while they are alive; give them their flowers, your time, and love while they are here on Earth.
