Ovie F. Wilson

Ovie F. Wilson, 88, of Amarillo died Sunday, March 20, 2011.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in San Jacinto Assembly of God with the Rev. Billy Snyder, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter St.

Ovie was born Dec. 2, 1922, in New Boston. He married Barbara "Bobbie" Miller on Aug. 22, 1945. He retired from Pantex after 23 years of service. Ovie was very involved in his church for 45 years, and served as a deacon for 25 years. He loved camping and spending time with his family in the mountains. Ovie loved everyone he ever met and will be missed by all.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Ann "Bobbie" Wilson; two sons, Tom R. Wilson and Dale E. Wilson and wife Connie; a brother, Grady L. Wilson; a sister, Thelma Jones; seven grandchildren, Keith Wilson, Greg Wilson, Laurie Pasley, Nila Wilson, Deanna Wilks, Cindy Brooks and Donna Cagle; and six great-grandchildren.
