Oscar Dela Cerda, 56, of Amarillo passed away Saturday, May 14, 2011.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. today in Christian Life Center, 2920 S.W. Fifth Ave., with Orlando Lopez, pastor, officiating. Arrangements by LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road.
Mr. Dela Cerda was born Sept. 15, 1954, and raised in Hereford. He married Otilia Herrera in 1971. He worked for many years as a trucker. He loved to fish and hunt and enjoyed playing bingo. He was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan.
He was preceded in death by his father; and two brothers, Henry and George
Survivors include his wife, Otilia Dela Cerda; two daughters, Angie Lovato and Sandra Dela Cerda; six sons, Oscar Jr., David, Ruben, Joe, Henry and Anthony; his mother, Paula Mendoza; three sisters, Aurora Ramirez, Paula Leon and Connie Mejia; 11 brothers, Richard Dela Cerda, Victor Dela Cerda, Israel Dela Cerda, Arturo Dela Cerda, Ralph Dela Cerda, Elias Dela Cerda, Raymond Dela Cerda, Sam Dela Cerda, John Mendoza, Charlie Mendoza and Dan Mendoza; and 23 grandchildren.
