Ollie Geneva Jones, 97, of McAllen died on Friday, January 9, 2015. Graveside services will be at 1:00 pm, Thursday, January 15, 2015 in Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Chester Beavers of Oasis Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter.
Ollie Jones was born on October 25, 1917 in Amarillo to Oscar and Ollie Holman. Ollie married her husband O.C. Jones in November, 1941 in Roswell, NM. She worked for Hervey's photography as a dark room technician for over 30 years. She loved to go fishing in Colorado with her brothers and sisters and also loved to travel. Ollie loved spending time with her family and was a great cook.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband O.C.; a son, David Holman; a son-in-law, Glenn Davis and a grandson, David Craig Jones.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Davis of McAllen; a son Charles Jones and wife Jan of Derby, KS; a daughter-in-law, Judy Griffin of Amarillo; three grandchildren, David W. Jones and wife Cindi of Amarillo; Jennifer Bishop and husband Kevin of Derby and Traci Tucker and husband David of Amarillo and nine great grandchildren.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:30 -7:00 pm, Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter.
