Nellie Marie Stout, age 90, of Amarillo went to be with her Lord on Thursday, May 2, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be Monday, May 6, 2013 at 10:00 am at LaGrone Blackburn-Shaw Chapel with Dr. Howard Batson officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Marie was born October 13, 1922 to William H. and Nell (Perry) Allen in Ink, Ark. She married the love of her life W. M. "Bill" Stout on February 18, 1942. He preceded her in death in 2011. She worked most of her life being a wife and mother and was a member of First Baptist Church. She loved to bake and have her family over, especially in the summers with cookouts and homemade ice cream. She was an accomplished seamstress and taught both her daughters to sew and do handwork.
Thanksgiving and Christmas were made special by the love and care that she put into it.
Marie is survived by a son Jerry Dale Stout of Amarillo, two daughters Anna LaJuan and husband Danny Ihrig of Kenedy, Tx and Rhonda Gail Morgan of Wake Forest, NC. She also leaves behind five grandchildren Carl Carpenter, Cartha Siddiqui, Jake Stout, Emily Huntley and Medley Ahrens and ten great grandchildren Kieran Carpenter, Amaaan, Imran and Hameed Siddiqui, Jackson Cain, Holden Huntley, Sophie Huntley, Ireland Webb Harper Brown and Remington Ahrens. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter Kristen Elaine Brown.
