Memorial Service will be 10 AM. Friday, January 11, 2013 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel 1505 Martin Road with Chaplain Sherman Eastland of Odyssey Hospice officiating. Services are under the direction of LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors.
Nell was born in Morton, TX on April 23, 1936 to James T. and Eula Mae Sandefer. She was raised and attended schools in Portales, NM. At adulthood she moved to Pampa and opened an optometry shop known as A Touch of Glass. After retirement in 2000 Nell moved to Amarillo where she made many new friends. She loved to dance and spent countless hours volunteering her seamstress services for senior citizens here in Amarillo.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe “Cowboy” Yocum; three sisters, Maxine Stevenson, Audrey Newman and Mozzelle Collins; two brothers, Clovis Earick, and Aldon Sandefer; a daughter, Vicki Lynn; and a son, Rodney Gleison.
Survivors include a sister, Faydean Davis of Glendale, AZ; three brothers, Richard and Kenneth Sandefer both of Amarillo and Rex Earick of Roswell, NM.; and a dear friend, Milly Sanders of Pampa.
