Nedra Estelle Lucas Mitchell

Nedra was born in Atoka, OK on January 15, 1920, and passed away on November 11, 2022, at the age of 102 years old.  She was preceded in death by her father, Tommy Lenard Lucas, and mother, Lula Hale Adams Lucas; her husband, Basil Eugene Mitchell; brother, Roy James Lucas; sister, Nadyne Lucas Gibbons; son, Stanley Eugene Mitchell; daughter-in-law, Barbara Ann Bay.  She is survived by her grandsons, Douglas Eugene Mitchell, and Nathan Todd Mitchell; four great-grandsons, three great-granddaughters, six great-great-grandsons, and four great-great-granddaughters.

Nedra was born January 15, 1920, near Atoka, OK at home on the farm.  She married Basil Mitchell on March 28, 1939, in Altus, OK.  They were married 73 years at the time of Basil’s passing.  She worked for the Civil Service from November 26, 1951, to November 2, 1984.

She was a great example of a Christian woman.  She was an excellent cook, homemaker, and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was loved by everyone she met and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
