Nathan Woods, 55 of Amarillo passed away on October 28, 2011.
Mr. Woods funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, November 4, 2011 at St. John’s Baptist Church, 2326 NW. 11th Avenue in Amarillo with The Rev. Tiller Watson of New Hope Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road in Amarillo.
Nathan was born on May 12, 1956 in Amarillo to Sears and Minnie Woods. He was raised in Amarillo and graduated from Tascosa High School in 1975, where he excelled in both football and track for the Rebels. Nathan worked in construction most of his life and was also a gifted bass guitarist. He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his is father.
His survivors include his two sons, Brandon Harper of Plainview and Cameron Woods of Lubbock; his mother, Minnie Woods of Amarillo; four brothers, W.C. Booker, Floyd Booker, Sears Woods and Michael Woods, three sisters, Darlene Oyemaja, Claudine Woods and Debbie Woods; three grandchildren, Ladazia, Brooklyn and Gabriel Harper and many other loving family members.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home at 1505 Martin Road.
