Nancy Lee Getkin, 81, of Amarillo died on Saturday, April 8, 2017. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter.
Nancy was born on September 3, 1935 in El Paso to Thomas and Bobbie Wilkinson. She graduated from Las Cruces High School and married the love of her life, Robert Getkin in Las Cruces on November 10, 1972. Nancy worked as an administrative assistant in the insurance business. She loved the Oregon Mountains outside of Las Cruces and she also loved to travel. Nancy was the biggest supporter of her grandchildren’s musical concerts and sporting events and was always there no matter the weather. Nancy loved her family and getting them all together where she was a great cook that was known for her posole.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two daughters and one grandson.
Survivors include her husband, Robert, one daughter, Christy Bigler and husband Michael; a son, John Coffee and wife Veronica; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:30 to 7:00 pm, Monday, April 10, 2017 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter.
