Minnie Murrell Houston, 90, of Amarillo died on Wednesday, February 5, 2015. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Monday, February 9, 2015 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel with Pastor Randy Srader of God of Wonders Fellowship Church officiating. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 1505 Martin Road.
Minnie Houston was born on June 14, 1924 in Wilson, OK to Henry and Alice Alexander. She married Glen Houston on July 31, 1945 in Wellington. Minnie loved crocheting and ceramics. She also loved working in her garden and taking care of her roses. Minnie loved to bowl and go dancing, but most of all, she loved her family and taking care of them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Glen, three brothers and one sister.
She is survived by four daughters, Glenda Miller of Tulsa, Nancy Carter, Shirley Warren and Wonda Houston, all of Amarillo; one son, Eddie Houston of Friona; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
