Michelle Alvarez, 45 of Amarillo passed away on Monday, March 3, 2014. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road. Burial will follow in Llano East Cemetery. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 1505 Martin Road.
Michelle Alvarez was born on January 1, 1969 to Manuel and Esperanza Pineda in Carlsbad, NM. Michelle loved cooking for her family and taking care of her children and grandchildren. She also loved traveling and going camping. Michelle also loved going shopping with her nephew Junior at Wal-Mart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Michael and a sister Adelina.
She is survived by her husband Ricky; 3 daughters, Janelle Alvarez, Koren Alvarez and Teresa Guzman and husband Armando, all of Amarillo; 4 sons, Ricky Alvarez and wife Lucila, Roman Alvarez, Ramero Alvarez and Rico Alvarez, all of Amarillo; 4 sisters, Alice Carillo of Odessa, Emma Pina and husband Jerry and Mary Lou Martinez and husband Martin, all of Amarillo and Sally Montoya and husband Usvaldo of Carlsbad, NM; 6 brothers, Jose Fuentes and wife Margie, Manuel Pineda Jr. and wife Monica, Mike Pineda, David Pineda and wife Angie, Gabriel Pineda and wife Denise, all of Carlsbad and Richard Fuentes of Andrews. She is also survived by 4 sister-in-laws and 5 brother-in-laws and 24 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like give special thanks to Gloria Rosas, Emma Pina and Mary Lou Martinez for their special care of Michelle.
The family will be receiving friends at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel on Thursday, March 6, 2014 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
