Mavis Marie Maney, 84 of Amarillo passed away on November 9, 2011.
Graveside Service will be in Burkburnett, Texas 12:00 noon on Monday, November 14, 2011 in Burkburnett Cemetery. Arrangements are by LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter, Amarillo, TX.
Mavis Marie Maney was born July 18, 1927 in Burkburnett to John and Odessa Crowder. Growing up in Burkburnett, Mavis graduated high school and went on to become a secretary in the medical field. Mavis enjoyed many things, spending her time with her loving pets and feeding the squirrels that would frequent her yard. She especially loved her cat “Buffy”. Mrs. Maney loved spending time with her family. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her grandson David Collazo, two brothers and three sisters.
Those left to cherish her memories are three sons, John Maney and wife Debbie of Austin, Olan Maney and wife Jane of Odessa and Randy Maney and wife Trudy of Bastrop; her daughter Jan Benton and husband Wayne of Amarillo; her special friends, Alex “Reed” Kozeill of Houston and her loving caregiver, Deana Seawright of Amarillo, 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to Panhandle Chapter of SPCA.
