Matthew Bruce Dixon, 90, of Amarillo died on Saturday, December 27, 2014. Memorial services will be at 1:00 pm, Friday, January 2, 2014 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter.
Matthew Dixon was born on May 30, 1924 in the Bronx, NY to Alexander and Patricia Dixon. Matthew was a mechanical engineer for Boeing. Matthew loved to swim and work in his woodworking shop.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one son.
He is survived by his two sons, Mark Dixon and wife Vicky of St. James, MO. and Stephen Dixon and wife Tammy of Amarillo; a sister, Eleanor Chailkowski of Claverick, NY; an ex-wife, Lela Steen of St. James, MO.; five grandchildren, Dustin, Chevy, Dillon, Jessica and Melissa; and two great grandchildren.
