Mary Kathryn Weser, 87, of Amarillo died on Wednesday, June 24, 2015. Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm, Friday, June 26, 2015 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel. Graveside services will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 27, 2015 in Llano Cemetery with Father Jim Schmittmeyer of St. Hyacinth's Catholic Church as Celebrant. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 1505 Martin Road.
Mary was born on August 16, 1927 in Amarillo to Dorsey and Halcy Smith. She married Donald Weser on October 6, 1951 at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Amarillo. Mary worked for the American Quarter Horse Association in the registration department until retiring after 17 years. Mary loved to knit and crotchet, play games and was an excellent cook. She also volunteered at St. Anthony's Hospital and BSA Hospice. Mary loved spending time with her family and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald and three brothers; Bernard Smith, Joseph Smith and James Smith.
She is survived by her son, Tom Weser and wife Brenda; two daughters, Pat Maxey and husband Gary and Linda McCommon and husband Edd, all of Amarillo; six grandchildren; Juli Weser and Paul Kizer of Amarillo, Chad Maxey and wife Michelle of Midwest City, OK, Zach Maxey and wife Laura of Greenbrier, ARK, Jonathan McCommon, Suzanne Chitwood and husband Cody, and Stephanie Mercer and husband Lance, all of Amarillo; seven great grandchildren; Cody Maxey, Ian Groves, Hope Groves, Cole Chitwood, Sadie Chitwood, David Hale and Rhonda Hale, all of Amarillo and one great great granddaughter, Gabriella Maxey of Amarillo.
