Mary Francis Pruett

Mary Francis Robertson Pruett, 68, of Amarillo died Saturday, March 15, 2025. She was born on November 14, 1956, in Amarillo, Texas, to Anna Kathleen and Curtis Howard Robertson. She graduated from Amarillo College with an Associate’s degree in Nursing. She worked at Baptist St. Anthony’s as a registered nurse for more than 30 years and at Thomas E. Creek VA Medical Center for the remainder of her career.

Mary was a free spirit. She took great pleasure surrounding herself in nature, often cultivating her garden, sharing new blooms with family and friends, and sitting on her porch waiting for “hummers” to visit her many bird feeders. She carried her binoculars everywhere to birdwatch–even while driving. She loved the beach, loved to bake, loved to read, loved jazz and Paul McCartney. She loved a practical joke, and her laugh was infectious, always filling the room with joy.

Mary treated everyone she met with warmth and compassion. You could show up at her home anytime, and she would meet you with a glass of iced tea, a homemade meal, and an open heart. She loved her family deeply, and she made the world a better, more beautiful place.

She was preceded in death by her father, Curtis “Curly” Howard Robertson, her sister, Caroline Kozar, and her brother, Michael Andrew Robertson.

Mary is survived by her husband, Patrick Pruett; her son, Curtis Tyler Robertson and wife Amy Robertson; her mother, Anna Kathleen Robertson; her siblings Kathie Donohoo, Curtis Robertson, Melinda Essary, Joyce Holdaway, and Robert Robertson; her granddaughters Mykala Robertson, Taylor Robertson, Chesney Robertson, Maycie Lozano, and Nikki Langham; 8 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
