Helen Flowers

Mary Helen Flowers, 83, of Amarillo passed from this life on Sunday, June 3, 2018. Services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, June 6, 2018 in LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are under the personal care of LaGrone BlackburnShaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter Road.

Helen was born on April 4, 1935 in Childress, Texas to Hiram and Maurine Powell. She married Jimmie Flowers on July 29, 1955 in Clovis, New Mexico and together they raised five children. She worked as a cook for AISD and was a homemaker. She was a member of San Jacinto Church of Christ. Helen loved going to church, listening to music, playing cards but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be missed by all who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters and a brother.

Mrs. Flowers is survived by her five children, Carol Cowan and husband Dennis, Jimmie Flowers and fiancee Kim, Linda Abbott and husband, David, Glenda Clark and husband, David, and Gary Flowers and wife Karla; a sister Judy Keys; 10 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and 1 on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

Family will receive guest on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
