Mary Jane Baucom, 88, of Amarillo died on Friday, January 29, 2016.  Services will held at 2:00 pm on  Wednesday, February 3, 2016 in Grand Avenue Baptist Church, 904 N. Grand, Amarillo with Dr. O.K. Bowen, pastor  officiating.  Burial will follow at Memory Gardens. LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road.

Mary Jane was born on November 5, 1927 in Walters, Oklahoma to Cary Grief and Sarah Gladys Goodwin. She  attended  Amarillo High School until grade 11. She worked in the gift shop and restaurant at Englishfield Airport and then she worked overnights at Gathwright's Cafe where she met the love of her life Sam Baucom, he worked at Bull Tire Shop across from the cafe, they married on November 9, 1946 and they celebrated 69 years together. She was a very dedicated wife, mother, memaw , sister and aunt. She loved her children and grandchildren immensely as well as all of her family. She took pride in her massive selection of vintage collectibles, "No Sam it is not junk!" She loved the Lord and was a very passionate Christian.   She was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church where she got great pleasure taking care of the kitchen and was very devoted to the church's food pantry.  She will be missed by many but as a family we will rejoice in celebrating her life as she embarks on her new journey with the Lord. Oh what we wouldn't give to hear one last time "Good Gravy". Forever in our hearts, We love you!

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Janie Lee Baucom,  a brother, Donald Joe Goodwin, two sisters, Dorotha Mitchell, and Jenny Lanzafami, and a great grandson, Brysen Tietz.

She is survived by her husband, Sam Baucom; her children and their spouses, Samuel C. and Dona Baucom, Becky Baucom, Wayne Baucom, Danny and Sharon Baucom, Debbie Williams, and Shane and Kyla Baucom; two brothers, Cary Goodwin Jr. and his wife, Dee, and Glenn Goodwin; two sisters, Sally Desimone and her husband, Dan, and Kay King and her husband, Jerry; 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

The family suggest memorials to Grand Avenue Baptist Church Food Bank at 904 N. Grand, Amarillo, TX 79107.
