Mary Pearlee Bagwell, 97, of Amarillo died on Sunday, April 5, 2015. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm, Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Memorial Park East Mausoleum with David Bagwell officiating. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter.
Mary Bagwell was born on June 9, 1917 in Floydada to William and Sarah Callaway. She married Ezra Bagwell on January 18, 1934 in Clovis, NM. Mary was a cafeteria manager for Amarillo Independent School District. She was great cook and was known for her chocolate meringue pies. She was a long time member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Mary loved crocheting and was an excellent seamstress, but most of all, she was an excellent mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ezra, five brothers and one sister.
She is survived by two sons, James Bagwell and wife Lorene of Lawton, OK and Charles Bagwell and wife Geneva of Amarillo; three grandsons, James Bagwell and wife MaryAlice of Buffalo, NY, Steve Bagwell and wife Belinda of Lucas and David Bagwell and wife Lorri of Sulphur Springs and a granddaughter Sandra Kay Scott of Lawton; nine great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
