Mary Mildred “Chick” Vineyard Andrews

Mary Mildred “Chick” Vineyard Andrews, 105, of Amarillo, died on Friday March 14, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 3pm on Monday, March 17, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Amarillo, Original Building 1208 S. Tyler St. with Sherman Eastland, Chaplain of Odyssey Hospice officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery

Mary Mildred was born to Dr. Samuel Polk Vineyard and Nell Black Vineyard on January 6, 1909 in Amarillo, Texas.  She graduated from Amarillo High School and attended Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, Texas where she met her husband Raymond Andrews.  Mary Mildred and Raymond were married on November 15, 1932.  They moved back and forth between Amarillo, Texas and Clovis, New Mexico ending in Amarillo in 2002. Mary Mildred loved the Lord and was very interested in others.  She was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Clovis and the First Baptist Church in Amarillo.  Mary Mildred was a member of an Antique Club, Le Tempe, a Garden Club, and PEO, Chapter AI, of Amarillo.

Mary Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and husband of 73 years, Raymond.

She is survived by a son Guy Andrews and wife Linda of Hyde Park, New York, a daughter Vivienne Huckabay of Amarillo, two granddaughters, Alicia Huckabay of Amarillo and Laura Ruane of Hyde Park, New York, great granddaughter Sarah Limon and husband Jose’ and a great-great granddaughter Naomi Limon of Hyde Park, New York, three nephews, Gene Vineyard and wife Wadene of Brenham, Georgia, Sam Winters of Austin, Texas, and Frank Andrews and wife Lynda of Ft. Worth, Texas, two nieces Kay Harris of Georgetown, Texas and Pattsie Haines and husband Keith of Bryan, Texas.
