Mary Virginia was born on November 24, 1913 in Roy, New Mexico unto Edward and Juanita Lucero DesChamp. He was raised and educated in Roy. She married El Hanon Alewine in 1945 in Lordsburg, New Mexico. Mary Virginia was of the Baptist faith and she loved to cook, garden, tending to her flowers and taking care of her home
She is preceded in death by her husband in 1991, parents and eight siblings
Survivors include a daughter Ruby Salazar of Dalhart, three sons Lowell Alewine and his wife Sheryl of Amarillo, Wesley Alewine and his wife Barbara of Hanford, CA. and Gilbert DesChamp of Roy, New México. Three sisters Emma Sporsicha of canon City, Co.; Cora Cordova and her husband Zac of El Segundo, CA, and Toni DeShane and her husband Archie of Mililani , Hawaii
