Martin G. Najera, 78, of Amarillo died on Wednesday, June 22, 2016. The Holy Rosary was said Thursday, June 23, 2016 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel with Deacon Alfredo Alarcon officiating. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 3:00 pm, Friday, June 24, 2016 at St. Laurence Catholic Church with Father Antonio Galindo as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Llano Cemetery. Martin was born on November 14, 1937 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Abundio Najera and Santos Gonzalez. He grew up in Mexico and married Pabla Rodriguez in the 1970's. He was a salesman where he owned and operated a retail sales business. He was a member of St. Laurence Catholic Church. Martin enjoyed photography, reading history and writing poetry. He was a kind and simple man who will be missed by all who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 30 years, Pabla Najera; and two brothers.
He is survived by his children, Gloria Castaneda and husband Erasmo, Ismael Rodriguez, Esmeralda Silvestre and husband Francisco and Martin Najera and wife Crissie, a brother and six sisters, and ten grandchildren.
