Martha Jean Vaughan

Martha Jean Vaughan, 85, of Amarillo passed from this life on Wednesday, December 26, 2108. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at a graveside service at 1:00 pm Monday, December 31, 2018 in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are under the personal care of LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 1505 Martin Road.

Martha was born on August 12, 1933 in Amarillo, Texas to James and Irene Padgett. She graduated from Amarillo High School. She married Weldon Dean Vaughan on April 23, 1956 in Tucumcari, New Mexico. Martha worked at Pepsi Cola and Meads Bakery before returning to school for nursing. She was a home health nurse until her retirement. She attended Family Life Church and collected all types of keys and dolls. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Norman Burke and two sisters, Darlene Ball and Jimmie Carol Padgett.

Left to cherish her memory are her two children, Rickie Dale Vaughan and wife, Irma and Debra Lynn Salsedo; three sisters, Sharon Brown and husband, Roy, Alecia Hanun and Evon Lovell and husband, Darrell; four grandchildren, Albert Dean Vaughan, Aimee Salsedo, Heidi Anuszkiewicz and Becky Salsedo; a great grandson, Ethan Dorian Salsedo and numerous nieces and nephews.
