Martha Ott, 100, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on January 4, 2021. Martha Ott, loving mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and great- great grandmother got her angel wings at the age of 100. Martha was born on August 17, 1920 in Red River County, Texas to Ola and William Edmonds. She married Ayrie McDonald in 1937. They worked on the Rafter O Ranch in Vega, Texas. At the age of 18 she was cooking for 22 ranch hands.
Martha was a house mother at the Presbyterian Children’s Home in Amarillo form 1950 to 1958. While there she returned to school to get her high school degree.
Around 1960 she graduated from vocational nursing school and worked at North West Texas Hospital in Amarillo. She also worked at Shamrock General Hospital.
In 1962 she married Vernon Harrison, They were successful distributors for the Shaklee Corporation for many years. They were married for 22 years until his passing.
She was married to Irvin Ott of Earth, Texas in 1991. He passed away in 1998.
Martha was a lifelong Christian, practicing her Christianity in every aspect of her life. She credits God’s love and care for her longevity.
She is survived by two sisters, Susie Jo Wilks and Mary E Miller; two daughters, Ann Loar and husband Earl Loar of Amarillo, Texas and Sue Bentley and husband Mack Bentley of Wheeler, Texas; four grandsons, Anthony Mark Sipes (deceased) and wife Sedonia Sipes, Paul Bentley and wife Lisa Bentley, Wade Bentley and wife Joni Bentley and Chad Bentley and wife Penni Bentley; four great granddaughters and four great-great grandchildren.
