Mark Allen Fleeman
October 18, 1968 – June 11, 2016
Mark Allen Fleeman passed from this life to the next where he joined his Savior in Heaven, on June 11th, 2016, surrounded by those he loved. Mark lived a short life of 47 years. He passed away peacefully ending his battle with Bile Duct Cancer in Amarillo, Texas.
A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, June 18 at Freedom Fellowship Church, 55 Hunsley Road, Canyon TX with Mark Butcher officiating. Arrangements are by LaGrone, Blackburn and Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter Street.
Mark was born in Wichita, Kansas on October 18, 1968 to Donald and Janice Fleeman.
Mark was a loving husband, father and soon to be grandfather, affectionately being referred to as “Papa Bear”. He was passionate about many things in life, each making up a different part of what made him the great man he was. For 20 years he followed his calling as a Youth Pastor. He loved ministering to teenagers and young adults, treating every student over the years as his own, whether they needed something as simple as a ride home from school or a place to stay, he never let anything stand in his way from helping. Mark also loved to run, he competed in countless races and finished numerous marathons. He found the greatest joy in running with his family; no matter the distance, he cherished every stride with his with family.
He loved sports and was a die-hard Texan, through good and bad seasons his support for the Dallas Cowboys was unwavering. Mark stood strong in his faith through the end and had a positive impact on an immeasurable amount of people who looked to him as an example. His sense of humor always filled the room with laughter and cheer, no matter how corny the joke. Mark loved with all of his heart and was loved greatly by many.
He was preceded in death by his father Donald Fleeman “Pappy”, his grandfather Raymond Norton “Pompy”, and a brother-in-law Bill Griffith.
He is survived by his wife, Melanie; daughter, Mariah Tapia and husband Leighton of Midland, Texas; three sons, Ty Fleeman, Tanner Fleeman and Trevor Fleeman of Amarillo, Texas; a stepson, Ben Cargo of Amarillo; a stepdaughter, Hannah Cargo of Amarillo; a brother, Troy Fleeman and wife Robyn of Kennedale, Texas; two sisters, Tyra Griffith of Wichita, Kansas, Melanie Jones and Jeff of Arlington, Texas; his mother, Janice Fleeman of Ft. Worth, Texas; His Grandmother, Barbara Norton of Wichita, Kansas; the mother of his children, Christina Fleeman of Amarillo, Texas along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
The family will accept guests and friends Friday evening from 5-7 pm at the funeral home
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation: cholangiocarcinoma.org
