Marjorie Roach Seewald passed away at the age of 94 on February 2, 2010 shortly after suffering a stroke in Houston, Texas. She was born on July 4, 1915 to the late Dr. Dee and Osie Hickman Roach in Guymon, Oklahoma. Her family moved to Amarillo where she grew up, married, and raised her family. For the past ten years she has resided in Houston with her children. Marjorie was a graduate of Amarillo High School and the University of Texas with a B.A. in English. Her lifelong interests were her church, collecting antiques, and her hobby of oil painting. As an active member of the Amarillo Junior League, she was instrumental in the acquisition of the outstanding Southwestern Art Collection at Amarillo High School. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church of Amarillo, Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, the Antiques Study Club, The Woman’s Club, and the Pierian Club. She enjoyed her years as a Camp Waldemar representative and as owner of Pauline’s Sportswear. However, her greatest joy was caring for her family. They honor her with keeping alive her legacy and inspiration of strength, love, graciousness, Christian faith, and love of country.
