Marilyn L. Keene, 72, of Amarillo died on Sunday, October 30, 2016. Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Paramount Baptist Church, 3801 S Western Street with Rev. Lance Herrington, associate pastor officiating. Burial will follow at  Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S Coulter Road.

Marilyn was born on March 20, 1944 in Childress, Texas to Ray C. and Myrtle A. Stone.  She  grew up in Childress where she graduated from Childress High School. Marilyn started working at Paramount Baptist Church as a secretary and later went to work at Pantex where she met her future husband, Richard R. Keene. They were married on August 30, 1968 in Amarillo. From 1970 to 1999 she was a licensed home childcare provider before going to work at Nationwide Insurance. She was a member of Paramount Baptist Church. Marilyn enjoyed arts and crafts, reading, playing games and watching football on tv. She could always be found supporting her  children and grand children at their activities.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard Keene, a grandchild, Dillon Belcher, two brothers, Ray Stone Jr. and  Lynn Stone Sr., a brother in law, David Keene and a sister in law, Joyce Petty.

She is survived by her  children, Bryan Keene, Tammy Keene Belcher and husband Verlin and Kim Keene; grandchildren, Marshall Belcher, Bethany Belcher and Morgan Egidy; sisters in law,  Sue Stone, Margaret Bloodworth and husband D.A., Janice Robinson and husband Carl and Margarette Keene; brothers in law, Gerald Keene and Richard Petty Sr.; and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.

The family will receive family and friends on Friday, November 4, 2016  from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions to Randall County 4-H Memorial Fund care of Opportunity Plan Inc., 504 24th Street, Canyon, TX 79105 or the charily of the donors choice.
