Maria Arvizo, 74 of Amarillo, passed away Monday, June 20, 1011 surrounded by loving family members.
Holy Rosary was read at 6:30 pm Tuesday evening at LaGrone Blackburn-Shaw Martin Road Chapel with Deacon Alfredo Alarcon officiating.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at St. Laurence Catholic Church, 2300 N. Spring St. Amarillo, TX with Rev. Gabriel Cardiel as celebrant.
Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Martin Road Chapel.
Mrs. Arvizo was born on October 20, 1936 in Namiquipa, Chihuahua, Mexico on Oct. 20, 1936 to Alejandro and Virginia Arvizo. She had lived in Amarillo for 10 years at the time of her death. Maria was a loving and devoted mother grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved feeding her animals and caring for and watering her flowers. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Ramiro Arvizo.
She is survived by two daughters, Graciela Wilson and husband Perry of El Paso and Maricela Flores and husband Lorenzo of Amarillo, a son, Hector Arvizo and wife Rachel of Phoenix, AZ, 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
