Marcia Day West, 70, of Amarillo died on Thursday, February 4, 2016. No funeral services are planned at this time. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw, Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S Coulter.
Marcia was born on July 25, 1945 in Hobart, Oklahoma to Lee and May Hodgkinson. She grew up in Altus, Oklahoma where she graduated from Altus High School. Marcia attended Cameron University where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. She married Tommy R. Beatty in 1960 and later married Jim Jordan. Marcia loved her two dogs, Wiggles and Toots.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, David R. Beatty, and a sister, Linda Braunstien.
She is survived by her sons, Russell R. Beatty and his fiancee, Dena Rogers, Bradley R. Beatty and his fiancee, Laura Craft; step daughters, Kathy Kindle, Peggy Zambrano; her grandchildren, Ciara Beatty, Meghann Beatty, Audra Beatty, Austin Beatty and Paige Beatty.
The family wants to say a special thanks to Bivins Assisted Living and Baptist Saint Anthony's Hospice for their great care and assistance.
The family suggests memorials to BSA Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at the funeral home.
