She was mostly raised and had only primary education in the mountains of La Estancia Durango, Mexico. She married Miguel Mireles in 1939 and raised 11 children.

Those preceding Manuela in death are her parents, Martin and Barbara Morales, her son, Jose Trinidad Mireles, sisters, Eugenia (Feliciano) Morales and Matilde (Raul) Gutierrez, one brother, Antonio Morales, one daughter in law, Rosario Cortez, and one son in law, Rene Gunzelman.

Surviving Mrs. Mireles are her children: Luz Maria (Pedro) Mireles, Regula Gunzelman, Martina (Tony) Holalde, Heriberto (Socorro) Mireles, Nerea (Luis) Bandera, Jesus M. Many adjectives can be used to describe Manuela. She was strong, quiet, reserved, hard-working, energetic, respectful, generous, and loving. Being the first one up and the last one to go to bed gave her children a great example of how to live their lives. “Mela” as she was called, loved to cook, crochet, sew, work in the garden, and raise flowers. She loved the countryside and being outdoors. She was dedicated to her family and taught her children to help those in need. She had common sense and was detail oriented. All these attributes were very important to teach to her family and for her family to carry on. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
