Manuel Eugene Kesner, 89, of Stratford, passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2021 in Stratford. He was born on April 30, 1932 in Greenwood, Arkansas to the late Shirley Newton Kesner and Mabel Pearl Gross Kesner. He married LaDonna Burrow in Tulia. She preceded him in death in 2018. Mr. Kesner served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was an Elementary School Principal for the Borger I.S.D. for 30 years. He was a life member of the Texas Elementary Principals Association, Texas State Teachers Association and a member of the Lions Club in Borger for many years. Mr. Kesner was a member of Paramount Baptist Church and had been a member of First Baptist Church in Borger for 38 years.
He is survived by one son, Andy Craig Kesner of Amarillo; one daughter, Cindy Seward of Dumas; son-in-law, Clint Seward of Dimmitt; one sister, Norma Gazzaway; six grandchildren, Craig Kesner, Neca Kesner, Amy Kesner, Tyler Seward, Jacie Seward and Remie Seward; four great grandchildren.
A visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday, November 18, 2021 at LaGrone Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Home on Coulter Road. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday, November 19, 2021 at the LaGrone Blackburn-Shaw Coulter Road Chapel with Kevin Burrow officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Tulia, Texas.
