Amarillo

Lyn Walton Hurst was born on April 23, 1960 in Wellington, Texas to Calvin and Lyna Hurst. He moved onward December 4, 2021. He will be greatly missed by many loved ones but his legacy will not be forgotten.

He is preceded in death by his parents and survivors include wife, Roxene of 24 years of Amarillo, Texas daughter, Morgan Brown her husband Chad and granddaughters Maddox, Boston, and Parker of Oklahoma and a son, Blayne who resides in North Carolina. He is also survived by his two elder brothers Ron Hurst of Pampa and Tony Hurst of Amarillo and their wives and many nieces and nephews.

Lyn was was born and raised in Wellington, Texas where he was a Boy Scout, played tennis, and attended First United Methodist Church. Along with his family, he spent many weekends waterskiing although he needed no skis.

Lyn moved on to attend West Texas State University where he was a member of Phi Delta Theda fraternity. He stacked his schedule with as many electives allowed including country western dancing and bowling. He was never shy to use his dancing skills with his wife and daughter in the kitchen as he cooked delicious food for his family. Lyn could be found through many seasons of his life on the lake, the tennis court, the ski slopes, the golf course and the 19th hole.

He traveled many miles watching his children, nieces and nephews playing various sports. The Dallas Cowboys, Texas Tech Red Raiders, and The Wellington Skyrockets were his favorite teams to support.

Lyn had a tender heart and strangers turned to friends, then family in no time. His sense of humor was unrivaled and will be deeply missed. He spent much of his time being with the people he loved. Time was his gift to the world and something he gave freely and fully. He spent many hours chatting with friends, playing cards, and knew the richness of a simple life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wellington Skyrocket Booster Club C/O Larry Adams of Adams Funeral Home, 1300 East Ave, Wellington, TX 79095.
